The revolving door of quarterbacks at 1920 Football Drive is spinning again, waiting for the next man to walk by and get caught. But, believe it or not, the rumors and “scoops” around who will get caught are swirling even faster than the door itself.
If you’re tired of reading “he said this” or “she said that” here is a hard, statistical fact. The Chicago Bears are officially the favorite to land Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Carson Wentz, according to PointsBet
Bears Favorites To Trade For Wentz (+115)
Before you freak out, keep in mind that the Eagles are the desperate team. No matter what you read on Twitter, the Eagles are saddled with a large contract and have made it obvious that they want to trade Wentz. Because they’ve revealed their hand, the rest of the NFL now has the advantage.
It’s also interesting to note that the Eagles would take a $34 million dead cap hit by trading Wentz. The fact that they are so determined to move him means something is up. Ryan Pace, no matter your perception of him, realizes all of this and will not offer the Eagles two first-round picks and a current player. This is a waiting game, and the Eagles will become more and more desperate as we get closer to the draft.
As for the other favorites, it’s Indianapolis (+135), Denver (+850), and Washington (+1000).

The Top-Five QB Options For The Bears
There is going to be some QB movement this offseason, and every major insider has said the Bears will be major players. Here are their top-five options (not based on odds) to fill the role for 2021:
- Deshaun Watson
- Russell Wilson (Yes, that Russell Wilson)
- Derek Carr
- Carson Wentz
- Sam Darnold
Now obviously that list drops off significantly after the first two, but all of these are major upgrades over Nick Foles. The Houston Texans are a dumpster fire, but as of now they are not shopping Watson and are determined to make it work with him as their QB. That could change, but it won’t be for several months. As far as Russell Wilson goes, that is even more unlikely.
Because it won’t happen for several months means the Bears have to act so they don’t miss out and end up starting Nick Foles. Are they going to get Watson or Wilson? There is next to no chance, but they are doing their due diligence and making the calls. It’s important to note both players have no-trade clauses and get to choose where they go.
Former Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall and Wilson are close. Marshall has been public about his talks with Wilson and that he is unhappy with certain organizational decisions. Marshall also said the Bears called Seattle, but no other information was released after that.
The Bears are desperate for a QB and are going to make a big move. If you had to put money down, Wentz is the likely choice.
