Raiders Sign Agholor, Kush, And Smith

-

The Las Vegas Raiders jumped back in to free agency Saturday by signing two players and resigning another one. Receiver Nelson Agholor signed a one-year deal with the Raiders; the team also signed offensive lineman Eric Kush. Las Vegas also brought back one of their free agents from last season, Rod Smith on a one-year deal.

Nelson Agholor WR

Nelson Agholor joins a Raiders receiving core that struggled last season. In Agholor’s previous season with the Philadelphia Eagles, he caught 39 passes for 363 yards and three touchdowns in just 11 games. Agholor has fought through a lot of confidence issues since he came into the NFL. Last season he had some critical dropped passes that could have helped the Eagles win more games.

The talent is there for Agholor; he has speed, runs good routes, needs to focus on catching the ball more. In five seasons with the Eagles, Agholor has 224 catches, 2,515 receiving yards, and 18 touchdowns.

Agholor brings some much-needed speed to the Raiders offense if he can improve on his catching ability and gain confidence. Agholor will have a chance to compete for a spot on the Raiders roster. With Tyrell Williams, Hunter Renfrow, and Zay Jones the top three receivers as of now, i could see Agholor beating out Jones. Jones did next to nothing last season for the Raiders

Eric Kush OL

The Raiders added some offensive line depth in Eric kush. Kush can play both guard positions and play center as well. He has been in the NFL for eight years and played last season with the Cleveland Browns. Las Vegas needed depth at the guard position, especially if they decide to move on from Gabe Jackson. Kush has started 19 games in his NFL career.

Rod Smith RB

Smith played with the Raiders last season and appeared in three games on special teams, he has played in the NFL for five seasons and rushed for 354 yards and five touchdowns. Smith provides depth in the backfield and can play special teams.
