P.J. Hall Traded
Training camp is underway, and the Las Vegas Raiders have already made a trade. The Raiders traded P.J. Hall, who was a second-round draft pick in 2018. Hall was traded to the Minnesota Vikings for a conditional seventh-round pick. The draft pick is contingent on Hall being on the Vikings roster for a certain amount of games.
Hall spent two seasons with the Raiders and started 18 total games for the Raiders. He recorded 26 tackles, 1.5 sacks and three quarterback hits in two years.
The Raiders signed veteran defensive lineman Maliek Collins this offseason to a one-year deal, this move reunites Collins with Raiders defensive line coach Rod Marinelli. They spent several years together with the Dallas Cowboys. Once the Raiders signed Collins, Hall’s spot on the roster became uncertain.
Marquel Lee Released
Linebacker Marquel Lee was released on Monday after failing his physical. Lee battled ankle issues last season, he spent three seasons with the Raiders and started 19 games. He had 104 tackles and six tackles for a loss. Lee started 19 games for the Raiders; this move gives rookie Tanner Muse a chance to earn a starting spot.
Jeremy Hill Signed
Running back Jeremy Hill has signed with the Raiders. Hill did not play last season after tearing his ACL in the first game of the 2018 season. He has not played a full seasons ice to 2016; Hill only played seven games in 2017. While with the Cincinnati Bengals, Hill rushed for 2,873 yards and 29 rushing touchdowns. Hill was signed because Devontae Booker is on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
No Fans at Allegiant Stadium This Year
The Raiders are opening the new Allegiant Stadium this season, but they will be doing so without fans. The team announced today that fans would not be allowed to watch games in the 2020 season.
The team had this to say in an announcement, “There is nothing more important to the Raider Organization than the health and safety of our players, coaches, staff, stadium workers and fans. “After intensive consultation with healthcare officials and state and community leaders, we have made the difficult decision to play the Las Vegas Raiders 2020 inaugural season at Allegiant Stadium without fans in attendance. This decision is based on our commitment to protect the health of our fans and the entire community in response to the coronavirus pandemic affecting us all.
This decision also ensures fairness to you. our PSL holders, given the challenges and potential inequities associated with determining who can and cannot attend specific games if the stadium were to operate at a reduced capacity. While the current situation is not how any of us envisioned celebrating the opening of Allegiant Stadium, when circumstances permit we look forward to sharing an unparalleled game day experience in the magnificent stadium you helped build.”
Many fans are upset that they were looking forward to enjoying games in the Raiders’ new stadium. Hopefully, next season fans will be allowed in.
