Four Possible Draft Prospects For The Las Vegas Aces

-

The Las Vegas Aces had an impressive off-season so far by adding Angel McCoughtry and Danielle Robinson. McCoughtry is one of the WNBA’s best players but is coming off a knee injury, but will be fully healthy whenever the season starts. Robinson is a defensive point guard, but not much of a shooter.

The Aces only have one draft pick in the draft, and it is in the third round at #93. With that pick, the Aces should look to add shooting to help space the floor for McCoughtry, Liz Cambage, and A’ja Wilson. Here are some possible players that can help Aces in the draft.

Abi Schield PF/C 6-2 Northwestern

Abi Scheid will be a player that can space the floor, and she also brings leadership qualities to the table. Scheid will be definite stretch four or five at the WNBA level. This season at Northwestern, Schield averaged 11.5 points per and shot 47% from three-land. In four seasons in college, she shot 40% from beyond the arch. It would benefit Scheid to try to develop a post-game; it would make her more versatile. Scheid would open up the floor for the Aces.

Juicy Landrum PG 5-8 Baylor

Juicy Landrum can flat out shoot the three; she broke the NCAA record by hitting 14 three’s against Arkansas State back in December when she scored 42 points. Landrum averaged 10.8 points per game and shot 40% from beyond the arch in four seasons with the Baylor Bears. Landrum would help the Aces big time with her shooting ability.

Jaylyn Agnew F 5-11 Creighton

Jaylyn Agnew is an outstanding shooter that the Aces could use. She averaged 20.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, Agnew also shot 37% from beyond the arch. The Creighton star would fit right in with what Las Vegas needs around their stars.

Haley Gorecki G 6-0 Duke

Haley Gorecki probably won’t be there at 93, but it is a possibility. Gorecki is a true scorer, rebounder, and she can distribute the ball. She averaged 18.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. Gorecki had an up and down career from three-point land, shooting 32% in four years at Duke, but she is capable of improving that at the next level.
