The Notre Dame Football experience is undergoing another change at the end of the 2020 season when Notre Dame legend, public address announcer Mike Collins retires, as reported by the Notre Dame website.
Collins, graduated from Notre Dame in 1967 and has been the voice of the Irish since 1982.
Pictured above with fellow Notre Dame legend retiree, Sargent Tim McCarthy, the two corner stoned the public address system and brought joy and laughter to millions of fans.
Here Come The Irish
According to the release, during Collins’ tenure, the Irish accumulated 166 victories and at the conclusion of the next six home games, will have called 233 straight home games.
One hell of a streak, right now he boasts a 73% win percentage, if you’re in to those kind of things.
Notre Dame announces 2020 will mark the final year for Mike Collins as the PA voice of Irish Football home games.

I don’t know about you, but for me, Collins’ announcing the Irish as they rush onto the field is something that we as fans will always cherish.
