While the Fighting Irish have been trending up with some nice additions to the 2021 class over these past few weeks, they have also had their share of players de-commiting.

Quashing Rumors
In addition to Styles Jr giving us some confidence that he will remain Irish
“I feel real confident in my recruitment for notre dame and in the coaching staff as well…and i’m all in right now”
He did acknowledge that some coaches have still been contacting him and he is still developing those relationships. Irish nation just saw the impact of recruiting relationships at Notre Dame when transfer WR Michael Young Jr chose Cincinnati as his new home in a decision that came down to relationships.
The Buchner/Styles Jr Connection
Perhaps one of the more exciting aspects of the 2021 class surrounds five star QB Tyler Buchner. The two were able to get some reps in and there was clear chemistry between the QB/WR.
What stands about Styles Jr in his interview, is his approach to becoming the best player he can be. I compared him to Irish-great Golden Tate. He recognized that Tate was a great player, but that as a player himself, he has a lot to learn before accepting that comparison.
When I asked him which receiver he thought his play matched, he said he is still focusing on molding into the player that he wants to be, and that he will take bits and pieces from each of the players game to do so.
