2021 #1 APB Announces His Commitment

-

Notre Dame recruiting took a hit today with the loss of five star Clemson commit Will Shipley.

Shipley was highly recruiting by the Irish and has been compared by experts to Christian McCaffery. The logical mind would lead you to believe that if you want to be like CMC, playing for his college RB coach would be a great place to start.

Apparently not. Run Game Coordinator Lance Taylor, McCaffery’s old college coach, may have been the only reason the Irish were even considered this deep into the commitment.

It was believed that the Irish would have been next on his list.

Typically this would sting a little more, but given what is going on in the world today, being close to home proved to be very important to Shipley. And let’s be honest, Clemson is a premier program in College Football.

Revenge Tour

The Irish will get at least two shots at Clemson over the next two seasons. One of them is scheduled to occur in November 2020, while the other is slated for 2021 – Shipley’s freshmen year.

Keep Calm

The Irish will have a strong backfield heading into the future, so let’s try not to get too discouraged. Shipley backing off perhaps shows that Chris Tyree, once a five star APB, is too much competition for another five star back.
