You read it correctly. October 5-7 the home of the White Sox is being turned into a 9 hole, par 3 golf course thanks to Stadiumlinks.
Events like this have been around for a few years and have been held at other major sports stadiums but this will be the first of its kind in Chicago.
Participants will get to take shots from 9 different locations around the stadium at greens located on the field. The only catch is that you don’t get to putt. Scoring will be based on how close the ball lands to the hole.
- Eagle (-2) = Hole-in-one
- Birdie (-1) = On or within the painted ring around target flag
- Par (E) = On the target green
- Bogie (+1) = Outside the target green but on the playing surface
- Double Bogie (+2) = Does not make it to the playing surface
It’s not just for fun either. The top 5 scores will be paid out from a $2,000 cash purse. There are also putting and chipping competitions for players to compete in.
There is only a waitlist right now but if chosen you can choose a standard tee time or a VIP experience. To join the waitlist and read more regarding the different packages click here and inquire about pricing.
I’m sure it won’t come cheap but this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity for golf and/or White Sox fans.
