The 2024 season for the Chicago White Sox was one of the worst in modern day baseball history. They were 41-121 and the worst team in the league by far. The bright spots were few and far between, as the team was very hard to watch for many White Sox fans.
However, down on the farm, the White Sox have some very intriguing players that can give fans a glimmer of hope for the future. We will be recapping the seasons of some of the best prospects in the White Sox system, starting from #30 and going in order to #1 as MLB Pipeline has them ranked. As you’ll see, there are some very intriguing prospects that can help bring the White Sox back to relevance.
Ranked 10th on the White Sox top prospects list is 2024 second rounder Caleb Bonemer. The White Sox selected him with the 43rd overall pick, as he was a high school shortstop from Michigan.
Bonemer was ranked 71st on the MLB Pipeline top draft prospects list, as he was a Virginia commit. Scouts love his bat speed, as it is one of the best in the class. The White Sox are going for upside with this pick, as this could be a high risk, high reward selection.

Since Bonemer was drafted out of high school, he didn’t get a chance to play any affiliated baseball for the White Sox in the 2024 season. That will change in 2025, as it is likely he will play at Rookie Ball before making his way to the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers at some in the first few months of the season.
Bonemer will be 19 for the entirety of the 2025 season, so he will be one of the younger players in low-A ball. If he succeeds right away, that would be amazing, but it is likely that he will need a bit of time to get used to professional baseball.
Bonemer has an extremely high ceiling, so it will be up to the White Sox player development system to get the most out of him. If they can, they may have another infielder to join the club when they are on the cusp of competing again in a few years.
