A few weeks ago, the White Sox were able to draft what many thought were 2 first round talent arms. Garrett Crochet went 11th overall, while Jared Kelley somehow slipped all the way to 47th.
The White Sox have now officially signed Crochet. He’ll get full slot value for 11th overall, while it sounds like Kelley will get big time over slot value to lure him away from his commit to University of Texas. The slot value for 47th overall is 1.5M, and he is expected to get in the neighborhood of 3M.
Both pitchers should slide immediately into the top 8 White Sox prospects list, and we could even see Crochet out of the bullpen this year.
