Ok…I’m starting to feel like we’re all getting trolled by White Sox players. Yesterday, Michael Kopech mentioned coveted free agent Bryce Harper in a tweet about uniform numbers, which I can neither confirm nor deny triggered the Sox fanbase as signaling something…anything…or maybe even nothing.
Friday morning, Tim Anderson decided to throw his Twitter-skin into the game.

While Kopech took a shot across the bow of Harper’s beloved jersey number, Anderson appears to just think Harper looks tasty in a Sox uniform. I kind of agree with him, but deep in my colorful imagination, I just can’t see it.
But thank God we don’t live in my imagination and we have the glorious playground of the internet to place visuals in front of us.
Yet again, all of us will fall victim to the what-does-it-all-mean analysis searching for clues that give us hope for a brighter future. Does this mean Harper needs a little persuasion? Maybe. Or does it simply mean that the White-Sox roster is having a good row watching all of us squirm and reply with nonsense? Likely.
I literally can’t contain myself.
Heeeere we go again. MAKE THE MADNESS STOP!!! PLEASE!! #WhiteSox https://t.co/sbH9HU27ga

At the time this post was published Anderson’s tweet had over 700 likes and 155 retweets. By Friday morning, Kopech’s tweet collected almost 7,000 likes and 1,500 retweets; and Kopech’s dad even nailed down almost 700 likes.
There’s no denying it: We’re in a frenzy for Harper news. But does this actually mean anything? We unpacked the conspiracy theories in the Info-Wars edition of the Pinwheels and Ivy Podcast last night, but there might be another shred of truth deeper in this story.
Allegedly, Jerry Reinsdorf has an ownership stake in the company associated with the twitter account that posted the initial Harper-tweet, Watch Stadium. This information is unverified, and we also don’t know how much of a stake Reinsdorf has in this company.

Take that information for what it’s worth, but I have a different conspiracy theory I’m working on. Despite the Kris-Bryant-Bryce-Harper love affair the media has run with, I hypothesize that Harper has deeper and closer connections with several White Sox players.
He played with Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez and Luis Alexander Basabe in the Nationals organization. And one player that was forgotten in this coterie was Nicky Delmonico, whom Harper played with on Team USA as a teenager. AND…Harper liked and commented on an Instagram story Delmonico posted yesterday.
Yeah, we’re here for all of it and we won’t stop reading between the lines until hard news breaks and we can all celebrate or cry together. Let’s face it, we’re all emotional right now.
