The White Sox Are Bringing A Variety Of New Mouthwatering Food Options To The Park This Summer

-

If you’ve ever been to Guaranteed Rate Field, then you probably already know that the White Sox have the best ballpark food in the entire MLB. Today, a select group of media members were invited to take pictures and sample some of the new food options that will be instilled in 2019. Lucky for me, I was able to be a part of that group, and let me tell you, fans are in for a wide variety of treats at the stadium this summer.

While we weren’t able to sample every single new item (that would have taken all day) we were able to take pictures of most of them. I’ll do a short review of each item I was able to actually taste, but I’ll include every picture I took. Let’s get started.

Boozy Hot Chocolate/Hot Apple Cider

As you may already know, April and May night games at the park can get pretty damn cold. Instead of making yourself colder by drinking ice cold beer, now you can warm up all while keeping that buzz of yours going. The hot chocolate features Jim Beam, Patron XO, and Monin toasted marshmallow syrup. Better yet, it comes in a 16 oz souvenir cup.

The Apple Cider wasn’t an option to sample, but it features Monin spiced brown sugar syrup and Fireball whiskey, while also coming in the 16 oz souvenir cup. Found in sections 144 and 538.

Bang Bang Chicken Salad

One thing I noticed about this food tasting is that there were plenty of healthier options. The Bang Bang chicken salad is just one example of that. Popcorn chicken doused in bang bang sauce, served on cabbage chopped salad with a soy ginger vinaigrette dressing. This was a shockingly good dish for how simple it really is. Find this at the Huntington Bank Stadium Club Bar.

Elote Nuggets

One of my favorite items I tried right here. Corn fritters topped with a creamy cilantro lime sauce, with a sprinkle of cayenne pepper. Definitely had a little kick to it, but I love spicy food so obviously I loved this item. This is a dish you can only get at the club level.

Antique Tacos

This was easily my favorite item I sampled. The one I sampled featured slow smoked brisket, queso, grilled onions, beware sauce, and cilantro. I woofed the whole thing down in about a minute and if you’re a taco lover like me, this should absolutely be at the top of your list of things to try this summer.

New Additions To The Craft Kave

We didn’t get to sample any beer but were told that the 3rd year of the Craft Kave will feature a partnership with 15 new breweries and 36 new selections of beer. So yea, you’ll have options.

Other Items

Bacon Popcorn

Simple enough. Popcorn topped with large amounts of bacon. Found in the Revolution Brewing Sox Social Taproom.

Mozzarella and Heirloom Tomato Board

For all the lovers of summer seasonal spreads. Found in the Diamond Suites.

Triple Play Burger

Angus beef, bologna, and bacon with a secret sauce and cheddar cheese. Found in the Huntington Bank Stadium Bar.

Buffalo Chicken Fries

The helmet of irish nachos were such a big hit last summer, the White Sox decided to expand upon the idea and bring us a helmet of buffalo chicken fries. This is a guaranteed no. 1 option for people who have had a few too many. Found in section 110.

Greek Fries

For all the Greek food lovers out there! Also found in section 110.

Dessert Sweet Potato Fries

Sox are really pushing the fries this year apparently. Sweet Potato fries topped with Nutella, chocolate sauce, powdered sugar, chopped pecans, and whipped cream. I think I got a cavity just typing that. If you want any variation of fries, just head to section 110. They’ll have you covered.

Nashville Hot Chicken

Bringing a bit of Nashville to Chicago! A chicken breast doused in a Nashville hot sauce, served with cole slaw and pickles on a brioche bun.

And that wraps up the food review for the White Sox new items in 2019. If you were upset about a rough off-season, you can at least enjoy stuffing your face and drinking good beer on a warm summer night at Guaranteed Rate.
