He would have been the tying run but instead crumpled in agony between third base and home and got tagged as the final out of the game. The newest unlikely way for the White Sox to lose a game was born. The Boston Red Sox broadcast booth mentioned this sequence during their game this afternoon, unprompted.

White Sox Are The Butt Of All Jokes
The jokes and trolls are warranted. The White Sox lost 101 games in 2023 and followed it up with a record-setting 121 losses in 2024. And this season doesn’t appear to be any different. They already have the worst record in MLB at 2-10 and have less talent on the roster than last season. The 2025 squad will be even worse than 2024’s historically bad team at their current pace. Opposing teams see them as a joke and a source for free wins. The Red Sox start a series with the White Sox tomorrow night in Chicago, and anything less than a Boston sweep will undoubtedly be disappointing from their perspective.
Constant Negative Headlines
The White Sox have been clowned for their losing ways for some time now. Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow publicly called out the organization for its losing culture last year, while former White Sox pitcher Lance Lynn was brutally honest about the state of the organization in an interview just today. These negative headlines result from a MLB team having the talent level of a minor league team. The team is under constant scrutiny because of just how bad they truly are.
Final Word
It will take a long time for the White Sox to get out of the basement in MLB, let alone become relevant again. A minor miracle and an ownership change are necessary for the team to make meaningful strides to contention over the next few years. With young players like Chase Meidroth reaching the majors, however, there is at least some reason for optimism moving forward.
Nothing will change as long as Ebenezer Reinsdorf keeps wasting oxygen. They will not be competitive as long he and La Drunk remain.
