In the first White Sox playoff game in 12 years, Lucas Giolito went out and did exactly what he needed to do by throwing 7 innings of 2 hit ball, giving up 1 earned run, and earning the win. The South Side is now 1 win away from advancing to the ALDS.
While the Sox limped into the postseason, they reminded us why they have as good a chance as any team to make a deep run.
Adam Engel got the party started with a solo shot to left center, proving that he should be the every day right fielder over Nomar Mazara.

Not much later, A.L. MVP candidate Jose Abreu got in on the fun himself.

Yasmani Grandal finished off the scoring for the Sox with a solo bomb to right.

This game couldn’t have gone much better for the White Sox. Their bullpen is still fresh, the team looks loose, and they have Dallas Keuchel going tomorrow afternoon with a chance to advance to the ALDS.
All in all, it was a great day for the South Side. Let’s rap it up tomorrow and head on over to the playoff bubble.
