The White Sox did it again. While you were busy marveling over Michael Kopech‘s two innings of scoreless baseball and lamenting the rain delay, the White Sox shared that Jose Abreu had surgery on Tuesday night.
Jose Abreu had surgery on lower abdomen/groin, and will return to baseball actiivities in about two weeks.

Abreu was scratched from the lineup on Tuesday night after he displayed lower abdomen pain when he showed up to the field.
Acting White Sox manager Joe McEwing added the following to Abreu’s condition before the game Tuesday.
“Jose was scratched today. … He had some lower abdominal pain. He’s getting treated and we’ll see where he’s at later on.”
Quite a non-answer and if Abreu was under the knife at the time McEwing wasn’t going to let anyone know. He added that Abreu was day-to-day at that stage and now it’s clear that Abreu will miss at least two weeks.
