Hawk Harrelson Stole The Show On Opening Day With His Take On Good Managers

-

Opening Day didn’t go as planned for the Chicago White Sox, who eventually had to cancel Monday’s game against the Detroit Tigers at Guaranteed Rate Field. However, despite no actual baseball being played, longtime voice of the White Sox, Ken “Hawk” Harrelson, stole the show on Opening Day.

There was a rain delay on the South Side before the game was called, and Hawk blessed everyone with the most Hawk moment ever. I’m not sure what he added afterward because the clip below was cutoff, but it’s still perfect Hawk.

Classic Hawk here.

Right off the bat, the completely unnecessary shade thrown at Steve Stone. “As long as you and I have been around baseball, me certainly longer than you.” HAHAHAHA. Then, Hawk follows that jab with a long pause that features some old man noises. No clue if he’s fighting off death, or if those noises naturally seep out from his body. And then the grand finale.

Actually, this is a good sign for White Sox fans because it appears that Hawk hasn’t gone 100 percent insane. Sure, he might think Todd Frazier is as good or even better than Kris Bryant, but at least he knows the White Sox are going to be bad this year. Yup, all of a sudden, Hawk isn’t concerned about wins and losses, it’s all about the eyes?

Again, Hawk was cut off, so I have no clue how he followed his thought about eyes making a good manager, but it’s better this way. Best highlight of Opening Day for the White Sox because again there was no game and the fans who went were probably miserable waiting in the rain. All they got was this hype video.

Well, there was also this electric entrance by the players in Mustangs.

Actually, solid Opening Day and you get to use your ticket for a future game too.

I’ve been a critic of Hawk before, but damn I think I need more of him on TV. Under one condition, he needs more takes like eyes making good managers.

Rick Renteria definitely has eyes.
