Sean Tracey has discovered TikTok and he’s out here throwing some wild allegations about Ozzie Guillén and Kenny Williams.
Do you remember the former Chicago White Sox pitcher? If you do, it’s most likely not because of his pitching, but rather because he was sent down to the minors the day after he didn’t retaliate and hit a Texas Rangers player back in 2006, that led to Guillén chewing him out in the dugout and the subsequent demotion.
June 14, 2006, the White Sox are losing 6-0 to the Rangers in the seventh inning and Guillén brings in rookie reliever Sean Tracey to intentionally hit Hank Blalock after White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski was hit in his first two plate appearances of the game. This was Tracey’s third ever MLB appearance, having a total of 4.1 innings under his belt at the major league level.
The right-hander pitcher attempted to drill the Rangers’ slugger, but missed on the first pitch. On a 1-2 pitch, Tracey once again tried to hit Blalock, but missed and then the 25-year-old rookie eventually got the left-handed hitting third baseman to ground out to second base. You can see the at-bat in the video below, starting at the 3:26 mark.
What isn’t shown is White Sox manager Ozzie Guillén storming out to the mound after the out, yelling at Tracey and then going at the pitcher in the dugout as well.
Tracey was sent back down to Triple-A later that night. The White Sox brought him back up in July, when he pitched once and then made his final three appearances in the majors later in September. Tracey stuck around in pro ball between the minor leagues and Independent Leagues until 2015, but he never made it back up to the majors.
Let’s just say Tracey is still bitter about how things went down in Texas 17 years ago. A recent video posted to his TikTok account this week not only includes Tracey suggesting that Guillén had a drug problem while managing, but he also goes after Kenny Williams, who was the team’s GM in 2006 and is currently the White Sox executive vice president of baseball operations.
The self-proclaimed “bad boy” calls Williams, “a piece of shit human,” and alleges that the general manager once tried to fly out his roommate’s girlfriend, which led to that player later blackmailing the team. That part supposedly happened in 2005, when Tracey was still in the minor leagues. He claims that’s the reason he didn’t get put on the 2005 World Series roster.
Tracey goes on to call Guillén a narcissistic druggie.
You know, maybe just a little unhinged. What do you think?
