Easy Steps to Save the 2022 White Sox

-

The White Sox have been underperforming all season long and despite being six games behind the Twins in the AL Central, there are some easy steps to fix them before it’s too late.

Step one? Gotta fire hitting coach Frank Menechino. Whether you think it’s actually his fault that the White Sox’s offense has been trash so far in 2022 or not, someone has to be held accountable. At this point it’s painfully clear that Tony La Russa won’t be the sacrificial lamb. Being buds with the owner definitely helps. Plus, Menechino’s hitting philosophy isn’t exactly working. As a team, the White Sox are batting .254, which ranks fifth overall in MLB. Pretty good right. It’s what Menechino wanted, a team that hits for a high average. Well, the White Sox have 65 home runs, the fifth lowest in MLB, leading to the 21st scoring offense in baseball.

Something has to change in that clubhouse because the White Sox continue to fall flat just when you think they’re about to turn the corner. They swept the Giants on the road, then came back home for a big series against the Twins and lost two of three. But hey, the White Sox probably had their best win of the year, or at least the most exciting, erasing five Minnesota leads on Wednesday, eventually winning in extra innings. Momentum, right?

Nope. The White Sox mustered up one run on four hits in their 2-1 loss to the Tigers Thursday night.

Bad.

The good thing is that the White Sox, believe it or not, still have time to catch the Twins and despite the awful loss on Thursday they should be able to handle the Tigers the rest of the weekend before playing four games apiece against Cleveland and Minnesota to close out the unofficial first half of the season.

While the White Sox aren’t fully healthy, Yasmani Grandal is rehabbing, this is pretty much their roster for the rest of the year. The talent is there. No more excuses.

HItting is not the problem. Gioilito and Lynn are failures.

They have a lot more than hitting problems. The entire system is in shambles. Until Reinsdick sells, things will always be short handed.
