“It wasn’t surprised,” White Sox rookie sensation Daniel Palka told Intentional Talk‘s Kevin Millar about being chosen to play in the McDonald’s All-American game in high school. “South Carolina was kind of a down state prospect-wise, so it wasn’t really hard to choose me with the numbers that I had.”
Perhaps it was, but the idea of playing against other high-school phenoms like Demarcus Cousins is something pretty awesome.

When asked who he was most afraid of guarding at the game Palka’s response was brilliant.
“None of them. I didn’t play defense at all. Seriously. Last thing I wanted was a video of me getting dunked on, so I just didn’t play defense.”
The rest of the interview was terrible. Palka tried to make a joke about pinning photos of himself to the bathroom mirror (which I found funny but received crickets from Millar and Rose). And then there was a photo of Palka wearing one of his buddies’ wives hair extensions. Palka got more of a kick out of that than anyone.
Maybe this isn’t news worth reporting. I guess we were just expecting a little more. But before leaving Palka unequivocally stated he’d take Sister Mary Jo Sobieck deep.
I guess we’ll just stick to enjoying his laser show instead of his comedy.
