The White Sox did not open up the season with any of their top-100 prospects on the major league roster, which surprised some people, as there were a few players that were projected to make it. However, that will make the minor league season significantly more interesting for many of the levels, as each level will have some intriguing prospects.
We can take a look at each level to see the top prospects who will suit up for them to start the season, as they will be interesting to follow as the season goes along. Here, we will continue by seeing who to pay attention to on the Charlotte Knights roster.
As fans may be aware of, the Knights have gotten off to an insanely hot start, as most of the top prospects have been making an early case to get a promotion to Chicago.
The Knights have an absolutely stacked lineup, as they have many of the White Sox top hitting prospects.
At second base, they have one of the main pieces in the Garrett Crochet trade, White Sox 8th ranked prospect Chase Miedroth. Miedroth has been off to a fantastic start so far this season, as he is hitting .273 with an extremely impressive .467 OBP. He has also added one homerun and one stolen base.
The Knights are absolutely stacked at catcher, as they have the White Sox second ranked prospect, Kyle Teel, and their sixth ranked prospect Edgar Quero. Both have been off to hot starts, as Teel is hitting .500 with two homeruns and nine RBIs through three games. Quero has been fantastic in his own right, as he is hitting .455 with a .571 OBP through three games.
The Knights lineup also features White Sox 4th ranked prospect, Colson Montgomery, as he he looks to earn himself an early promotion to Chicago after what turned out to be a disappointing Spring Training, as he didn’t break camp with the team.
Tim Elko is also on the roster and he has continued to hit, as all he has done since joining the White Sox organization is hit. If the White Sox trade Andrew Vaughn at some point this season, look for Elko to take his spot.
On the pitching side, the rotation includes White Sox 9th ranked prospect Jairo Iriarte, who was a main piece in the Dylan Cease trade. Iriarte looked good in his short stint in Chicago to end the year, so he will likely make his way to Chicago before July.
Additionally, Nick Nastrini, the White Sox 27th ranked prospect, is in the rotation. The White Sox have high expectations for Nastrini, as he has shown he could be a very good major leaguer.
With all the talent in the White Sox organization, the Knights may be the most loaded team, as they have some of the most exciting position players in the farm system.
