If the White Sox trade anyone in the next couple days it’ll most likely be closer Álex Colomé, who keeps drawing interest on the trade market. First, the Nationals popped up as a serious suitor for the right-hander.
Now, another NL East team has entered the sweepstakes for Colomé according to Jon Morosi.
Come on down, Phillies!
Colomé, 30, still has one more year of arbitration before becoming a free agent and although he’s having a good year with the White Sox, there are a few other better options available.
But as long as you have some competition for one of your players, you have more leverage in trade talks. Two division rivals battling for a playoff spot interested in the same guy? A perfect scenario for Hahn.
