Chicago White Sox Odds

The Chicago White Sox put the MLB on notice last season. The South Side Hitmen had one of the most lethal offenses in baseball. They ranked in the top five in the MLB in hits, home runs, RBIs, and runs. They also finished second in the American League in batting average.

Jose Abreu put together a spectacular season. He led the MLB with 60 RBI’s while also launching 19 home runs and posting a .317 batting average. As a result, he was recognized with the American League MVP award. Lucas Giolito recorded a no-hitter against the Pirates and finished seventh in the Cy Young voting. Dallas Keuchel recorded a 1.99 ERA and finished fifth in the Cy Young voting. Rookie players also emerged as big-time contributors for the White Sox. Luis Robert was the runner up for rookie of the year after putting this five-tool talent on full display during the regular season. Nick Madrigal was as advertised, putting balls in play and refusing to strikeout.  After a disappointing playoff exit, the White Sox added some more firepower during the offseason. Rick Hahn traded for ace Lance Lynn, who has finished inside the top 6 of the Cy Young voting two years in a row. They also went out and added the best relief pitcher in baseball, Liam Hendriks.

For all of these reasons, White Sox fans are very excited. The oddsmakers are excited as well. The White Sox have the fourth-best odds to win the World Series, the second-best odds to win the American League pennant, and are the favorites to take the Al Central crown.  Here is a breakdown of the odds for the White Sox this season.

White Sox Odds To Win The World Series

The White Sox current odds to win the 2021 World Series is +950. A $100 dollar bet would win you $950 dollars. A $10 dollar bet would win you $95 dollars. These odds have improved throughout the offseason. In January the Sox had 100/1 odds to hoist the commissioner trophy. A $10 bet could have won you $100 dollars. That is great value for a team that was ranked among the league’s best offensively and has added some impactful pitching during the offseason.

As it stands right now they have the fourth-best odds in the MLB to win it all. The current favorite is the Los Angeles Dodgers at +450. The other two ahead of the White Sox are the New York Yankees and San Diego Padres at +550 and +800 respectively.  The Pittsburgh Pirates have the worst odds to win the World Series at +10000. A $10 bet on them would win you $1,000 if they happened to pull off a small miracle. Wholesome of the value has gone away as the White Sox odds continue to improve they are still a good bet to win the World Series. A small bet will give you a healthy payout. You are also getting a team that has the former MVP in Jose Abreu, a former AL batting champion in Tim Anderson, and three Cy Young contenders in the pitching rotation in Lucas Giolito, Dallas Keuchel, and Lance Lynn.

White Sox Odds To Win American League

The Chicago White Sox have the second-best odds to win the American League at +400. They trail only the Yankees who have +260 odds. The Yankees and White Sox are the clear cut favorites. The next best team is the White Sox division rival, the Minnesota Twins who have +750 odds to win it all. The White Sox will see the Twins a lot this upcoming season with 18 games scheduled between the two. The White Sox will take on the Yankees in a nationally televised game on August 12th in the first-ever Field of Dreams game in Iowa. That will be the third of six games between them this year.

While the White Sox have some stiff competition in their own division they also have the team with the worst odds to win the American League in it. The Detroit Tigers have +6000 odds to win it all.

Despite Vegas’s faith in the White Sox, relief pitcher Aaron Bummer is not considering the White Sox favorites. “I’m a believer that you’ve got to take down the champs. You’re not the favorite until your standing on the top,” the left-hander told Chuck Garfein on the White Sox Talk Podcast.”Even in the American League Central, I don’t know how many years the Twins have won it two or three years in a row, and the Indians are always right there. To say we’re the favorites, that might be the betting odds, but I want to go out there and take it from them. So I’m not going to call myself the favorite, and I’m not going to crown ourselves anything until we go out and take it from them.”

The White Sox will still have to beat out the defending American League champions Tampa Bay Rays who have +850 odds to win the American League. Another contender is the Toronto Blue Jays whose savvy offseason moves have them sitting at +875. With their mix of young talent and the addition of George Springer, the Blue Jays are primed to make a playoff push. Meanwhile, the always dangerous Houston Astros sit at +900 to win the pennant. The Oakland A’s, who knocked the White Sox out of the postseason in 2020, are right behind them at +1000. One team that could have some value for bettors is the Angels at +2000. Despite their recent struggles they still own the best player in baseball in Mike Trout and a top-tier third baseman in Anthony Rendon. The White Sox will see the Angels on the opening night of the 2021 season.

White Sox Odds To Win AL Central

The White Sox have not won the AL Central division since 2008. If the odds are any indication the White Sox will snap that drought. The White Sox are heavy favorites to win the division at -130. That means that you need to bet $130 dollars to win $100 dollars. These odds continue to improve in favor of the White Sox as the offseason rolls along. A few weeks ago the White Sox had -112 odds to win the Central Division crown. The White Sox have the third-best odds to win their division, trailing only the Dodgers at -167 and the Yankees at -200.

Despite being favorites on paper the Twins are still a threat to crash the party. They have great value at +175. During the offseason, they signed JA Happ, re-signed notorious White Sox killer Nelson Cruz and plucked former White Sox closer Alex Colome out of free agency.

Vegas sees this as a two-team race in the division. The Indians are projected to finish third with +650 odds. They traded away their best player Fransico Lindor which makes them a lot less scary. However, the Indians still have a capable pitching staff anchored by the Cy Young winner Shane Bieber. Interestingly enough the Royals have better odds than the Tigers to win the American League but the Tigers have the same odds to win the division. Detroit and Kansas City each have +4000 odds. Both teams are in the midst of a full-scale rebuild so if you want to throw your money away those teams would be a good bet.

Ways To Bet On White Sox

There are multiple ways to bet on the White Sox this season. You can find all the odds listed on DraftKings, PointsBet, FanDuel, William Hill, BetMGM, or My Bookie.

White Sox Player Prop Bets

A prop bet is a side bet made during the occurrence of a game or a season. You can make player props on how many hits a player will have, home runs they will get in a season, or even how many strikeouts they will have. Right now there are not many prop bets available for the MLB because it is the offseason.

DraftKings does have MVP prop bets for the 2021 season. Mike Trout is the odds on favorite to win AL MVP at +200. Jose Abreu is seventh on the list at +2500. Abreu was last season’s MVP and will have even more lineup protection around him this season with the addition of Adam Eaton and the continued development of Nick Madrigal and Luis Robert. He is tied for seventh with two of his teammates. Luis Robert and Yoan Moncada share the same odds as Abreu to win MVP at +2500. Robert was the runner up for rookie of the year and will be playing in his first full season during 2021. Yoan Moncada was a dark horse for MVP last season, but following his COVID-19 diagnosis, he did not look like the same player. He struggled for most of the season but the White Sox are confident he can bounce back in 2021. Yasmani Grandal has the next best odds for a White Sox player. The veteran catcher has +3000 odds to take home the MVP. The other two White Sox players listed with odds to win the MVP are Tim Anderson and Eloy Jimenez. Each has +3300 odds to win the award. At +3300 this is a tremendous value for two very good players. Eloy Jimenez is coming off the best season of his young career. Jimenez hit .296, drove in 41 runs and 14 home runs in only 55 games.  He won a Silver Slugger Award for his efforts. Hitting coach Frank Menechino thinks he will only get better this season. He said in an interview with MLB radio that he believes Eloy has a shot to win the batting title. Tim Anderson also has great value at +3330 odds. He is the 2019 batting champion and put together another solid season in 2020. He finished seventh in the MVP voting. In 49 games the White Sox shortstop hit 10 home runs 67 hits and a .322 average. A $10 dollar bet on either player would win you $330 dollars.

White Sox Odds FAQ

Are the White Sox a good bet to win the World Series?

The White Sox had better value at 100/1 odds. If you were able to jump on that you got great odds. The White Sox are not as appealing at +950 but with their talent, it is still a pretty good bet.

Are the White Sox a good bet to win the AL Pennant?

The White Sox are at +400 to win the pennant. A $100 dollar bet would win you $400 dollars. While those are decent odds I would bypass the pennant and just bet them to win the World Series.

Are the White Sox a good bet to win the AL Central?

Three teams in the division are in the midst of a rebuild. The Twins have had the White Sox number the past couple of seasons. But this is a different White Sox team. You have to wager a little more money but at -130 the White Sox are still a good play.

What is the best MVP prop bet to make?

I like Eloy Jimenez to win the MVP at +3330. For only ten dollars you could win $330 dollars. Jimenez’s defense is a concern but he took a big jump from 2019 to 2020 offensively. If he continues to improve he is a dark horse MVP candidate.

What are the best prop bets to make?

Dylan Cease to become an All-Star would be a great bet. They have not released the odds for this yet but when they do his odds will be low. This means great value. Cease has great stuff and he has been working with new pitching coach Ethan Katz this offseason.

How many wins will the White Sox have this season?

With plenty of divisional games against weak opponents, the White Sox should be able to compile so easy wins. New manager Tony La Russa should also help the White Sox, especially in late-game situations. The White Sox should be able to win over 90 games this season.

Who is the White Sox most valuable fantasy player?

Jose Abreu is the White Sox’s most valuable player on offense. He has been able to produce good numbers his entire career with no protection in the lineup. 2020 was the first season he had talent surrounding him and he flourished taking home the MVP.

What should I do if I have a gambling problem?
