Isn’t it great having Kyle Tucker on the Cubs? How about ownership stops wasting time and presents the superstar with a legit contract extension to keep him around for the rest of his career. Anyway, following a record-breaking home run streak Tucker was named NL Player of the Week.
Tucker was incredible against the Athletics and then capped off his incredible week by hitting his first home run of the year at Wrigley Field on Sunday against the Padres.

On Tuesday against the Athletics, Tucker homered for the fourth straight game, breaking his longest home run streak of his career.
Not only does Tucker lead the Cubs in all offensive categories, the 28-year-old is currently the most valuable player in baseball with a 1.1 fWAR through 12 games. In the NL alone, Tucker leads the league in home runs, RBI, runs scored, slugging % oh and he’s also 3-for-3 in stolen bases.
Overall in 2025, Tucker has a 225 wRC+ in 59 plate appearances and out of his 15 hits, 10 are extra-base hits.
Tucker has been insane at the plate since beginning the year 0-for-7 against the Dodgers in Japan.
Beginning with this at-bat, Kyle Tucker is 15-for-40, with 5 HR, 5 2B, 11 BB 15 RBI, 13 R https://t.co/GN7rO47PSX

Tucker is the first Cubs outfielder to win NL Player of the Week since Seiya Suzuki earned the honors in April 2022.
