Luis Robert Jr. Owns the Cubs

-

There was one guy who could hurt the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field and it was Luis Robert Jr. He did exactly that, winning the game with a solo home run in the seventh inning that gave the White Sox a 4-3 lead that eventually ended in a 5-3 victory over the Cubs.

Julian Merryweather simply failed to execute his slider that was supposed to be low and way, left it hanging and Robert crushed it to left to deliver the biggest blow against the Cubs Wednesday night.

Heading into Tuesday’s game, Robert had a career 1.220 OPS against the Cubs in 11 games. The right-handed hitting center fielder had already blasted four home runs vs. Cubs pitching, with a slash line of .381/.458/.762, the second best numbers against any team in the majors.

Just like the Cubs failed to pitch around Pete Alonso last week against a woeful New York Mets lineup, the Cubs let the only guy on the White Sox beat them. Annoying as fuck.

Can’t say nothing else from a Cubs perspective. Luis Robert Jr. owns them.
