I still have no idea why there were some fans who were legit worried about Kyle Tucker because he didn’t really hit much during spring training. We’re talking about a top-10 hitter in the league and guess what, Tucker has been carrying the Cubs early in the year and in his first week with his new club Tucker has already broken a personal record.
The Cubs beat the Athletics 7-4 on Tuesday night and Tucker homered for the fourth consecutive game, now the longest homer streak in his career.

Through eight games so far in the 2025 season, Tucker leads the Cubs in pretty much every major statistic on offense. The left-handed hitter is slashing .353/.450/.853, in 40 plate appearances.

During this current four-game homer streak, Tucker is out of this world. Starting with Saturday’s game against the Diamondbacks, Tucker is 10-for-18, with 4 home runs, 4 doubles, while walking as many times as he’s struck out, 3 times. Overall this year, Tucker has 12 hits and 9 of them have been for extra bases.
An incredible stretch from Tucker and he’s proving exactly why he’s very much deserving of a huge contract. The 28-year-old is set to become a free agent following the 2025 season and holy shit if the Cubs don’t keep him there is zero justification behind ownership not doing everything it can to get it done.
Tucker finished Tuesday’s game 2-for-3, with a pair of walks. The Cubs got out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a bomb from Seiya Suzuki, who blasted a ball 445 feet to dead center field.

Suzuki was hitless in two games against the Dodgers in Japan, but he’s reset and in his last five the right-handed hitter is 7-for-22, with 2 home runs and 2 doubles. That’s a nice 1-2 punch in the middle of the lineup for the Cubs.
Why would you trade for this guy if you knew you couldn’t sign him? There’s NO way Ricketts is going to pay him what for example the Yankees or Dodgers will offer him?? Disgusting.
