Unless you’ve been living under a rock then I am going to assume you’ve seen all 4,384 Kris Bryant trade rumors. In a recent report from Cubs reporter Jordan Bastian, Bryant doesn’t seem to mind the noise surrounding him and his potential future with the Cubs.
“It hasn’t been a distraction at all,” Bryant said of the trade chatter. “I mean, Theo keeps asking for the moon for me, which is pretty cool, because I’m not going to get traded then. Keep doing that, Theo. ‘We want the team’s best player and their top two prospects.’ That’s all it’s going to take.”
KB definitely has a point. The only way Bryant isn’t a Cub is if Theo’s asking price does indeed drop back down to earth. And the odds of that happening are slim to none. In the end, I think most fans want KB to his finish career as a Cub. It’s also key to mention that Bryant shares similar emotions as it was reported earlier in the year that he’d like to stay to stay in Chicago.
Hopefully both sides can reach a deal here soon otherwise we should all expect the trade rumors to continue to surface.
