Kris Bryant is having the best year of his career and has been on fire in July. He hit a two-run homer on Wednesday, his 21st of the season, but after striking out in the fifth inning he didn’t come back out to third base.
David Bote replaced him. Here was his last swing on the strikeout.
The Cubs have not said why Bryant exited early. Stay tuned for any updates.
Anthony Rizzo was also ejected after striking out to end the fifth.

Bryant left because of right knee soreness.
Thankfully nothing wrong with his shoulder.
