Baez went room to room taking pictures with the young patients and their family members during his stop through the hospital. Baez is unfortunately familiar with having a family member in the hospital as he suffered through the loss of his sister, Noely, who died of complications from spina bifida just before the 2015 season.
“I’ve been through a lot of conditions with my sister and see the smile of a child like that, who has so many conditions, and you smile for nothing, only for a visit that costs you nothing … I feel very proud.”
Baez stopped in the room of a young girl who was heart broken because she missed Game 7 of the World Series.
