The man known as Mai Tai Guy on Twitter said he had to go to the hospital after getting jumped by a couple of other fans in the bathroom at Guaranteed Rate Field during the Cubs vs. White Sox game Wednesday night.
The Cubs fan posted a photo on social media, showing blood on his shoes, legs and glove.
He later tweeted the following update.
I’m going to make it. Couple guys ganged up on me in the bathroom in LF. Been in worse spots. Go Cubs
It was yet another wild night between the Cubs and White Sox on the field, but the fireworks extended into the rest of the ballpark as well. Besides Mai Tai Guy getting jumped in the bathroom, leading to a trip to the hospital, a massive fight broke out in one of the suites during the game.
There was also another fight in the outfield bleachers that led to this incredible photo that captured a can of Modelo getting launched at fans in the left field seats.
Tempers seem to flare every year whenever the Cubs and White Sox play and it’s at both ballparks. But man, jumping a guy in the bathroom is an awful look. Scumbag behavior.
Luckily, after some stitches, the fan is in good spirits after the Cubs won their fifth game in a row.
