About a month ago, rookie forward Chandler Hutchison injured his foot, played 40 minutes through the injury the next night, ending up with a broken foot. When the injury happened the Bulls released a statement that he would be re-evaluated after the all-star break.
Well the all-star break has come and gone, but there was still no word on Hutchison. Finally, we got some good news yesterday, as K.C. Johnson of the Tribune reported that the Bulls 1st-round pick shed his walking boot “about a week ago” and got 150 shots up at practice.
“I’m just trying to get pain free. That’s optimism from all of us that I’ll be back this season,” Hutchison said. “It felt good to progress to (shooting). Kind of lightened the mood a bit to see some shots go in after not being able to do that for a while.”
With 22 games left in the season, it would be really nice to see Hutchison get back in the lineup for the final 15 games or so. Hopefully things continue to trend in the right direction.
