The Season Of Giving: Chicago Bulls Helping The Community

The Chicago Bulls may not be doing much good on the court this season, but over the past few months have touched thousands of lives surrounding the holiday season. Every player and coach has contributed in some fashion, so let’s provide a heartwarming update seeing what they’ve been up to.

Ayo Dosunmu’s Giving Spirit

Second-year guard Ayo Dosunmu is learning early that giving back is an important part of representing Chicago, and he went above and beyond to make sure Chicago area families had a quality Thanksgiving dinner. Dosunmu supplied 48 families with a $125 gift card to a neighborhood grocery store to make sure they could afford a hearty Thanksgiving meal. He also surprised one of those families with an autographed jersey upon delivery of the gift cards.

Dosunmu also met three Chicago families before a home game earlier this month and hand-delivered them Christmas presents via his family at halftime.

Andre Drummond Spreading The Joy

Newly signed center Andre Drummond has had a busy holiday season in his new city. Earlier this month, he brought the Whitney Young Varsity Girls’ basketball team to the United Center for a game and supplied them with some team merch. They had the opportunity to interact with the team, and walk inside the team tunnels inside the arena.

Drummond also visited the local grocery store, gifting out two $500 gift cards to random Chicagoland customers, with the hopes of providing some light this holiday season.

Zach Lavine Rolling In The Hoopbus

Zach Lavine pulled up in the ‘Hoops Sleigh’, a custom school bus with a basketball hoop on the backside, to the James Jordan Boys & Girls Club a few weeks back, supplying autographs and t-shirts to the children. Tony Bradley & Benny The Bull Spread Holiday Cheer

Reserve center Tony Bradley and the lovable Benny the Bull went to the Hematology and Oncology units at the Advocate Children’s Hospital in Park Ridge to bring some cheer to the patients amid the holidays. They also gave out merchandise, and autographs, and took photos as a surprise to the kids.

DeMar DeRozan Packing A Holiday Punch

No, actually, DeMar DeRozan bought and distributed new boxing gloves and headgear to the youth members of Chicago’s Ring of Hope before their fight day, and also handed out a signed t-shirt to each member of the club.

Students at St. Nicholas Cathedral School were gifted an early holiday present via the ex-Chicago center.
