Chicago Bulls are going into the draft week with all their options on the table. One option, of course, is trading away Zach LaVine on draft night, similar to when they acquired him when they parted ways with Jimmy Butler.
Twenty-four hours after Bradley Beal set the market for underachieving-stat padding shooting guards, the Bulls hope they can receive a lot more than the Wizard did, given they walked away with no first-round picks. According to KC Johnson from NBC Sports Chicago, the Bulls have set the asking price for Zach LaVine.
Zach LaVine Days Are Numbered In Chicago
The Bulls have very few draft picks over the next few seasons, thanks to Arturas Karnisova’s overaggressive moves to build a subpar roster. The natural fit seems to be with the New York Knicks as they try to build a roster around Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle. It’s been tough for New York to build a winning roster over the past 20 years. They finally have a healthy mix of young players, star players, and draft assets to put together a team that could make a serious run in the NBA playoffs.
The Bulls would prefer to land the Blazers’ Top 3 pick and select Scoot Henderson. While that option seems unrealistic right now, it would be interesting to see if they could put together an enticing package for Portland in case the Blazers want to retool around Damien Lillard one last time.
I totally agree that AK was too aggressive in his pursuit of having a great team. Injuries definitely didn’t help but that’s reality. Agreed I would trade with the Knicks get the Washington 24 pick and RJ for LaVine.
Just get what you can and admit your big three did not work.
