The Bulls Could Trade Lonzo Ball To Charlotte To Join LaMelo Ball

-

The Chicago Bulls are currently rumored to be in possible trade talks with the Charlotte Hornets, according to Sam Amico. The rumor discusses the possibility of trading Ayo Dosunmu to the Hornets, but that should’nt rule out the possibility of both teams swapping their point guards for a better situation.

Lonzo Ball has only played 35 games in a Bulls uniform after signing a four-year deal with the Chicago Bulls in the summer of 2021. His absence has been noticed, as the team fell apart after his injury, and he never seems to get back on track at any point. That being said, there aren’t a lot of teams willing to make a trade for Lonzo Ball, given his injury history throughout his career. The Charlotte Hornets are in a rare situation that could allow them to acquire Lonzo Ball to improve the team dynamic.

Lonzo Ball Trade To Charlotte Idea

Bulls Trade: Lonzo Ball & Ayo Dosunmu

Hornets Trade: Terry Rozier

The Hornets have been rumored to trade Terry Rozier before the deadline all season. Rozier, age 28, is averaging 21.5 points per game, 5.1 assists per game, and 4.2 rebounds per game this season. That is a better stat line than anything Lonzo Ball has put up in the past 12 months. The salaries between Rozier and Ball are nearly identical, which makes the business aspect of the trade much more straightforward. The Bulls could put up one last attempt of the Zach Lavine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic experiment by adding Scary Terry to the team. Terry has a strong track record of staying healthy throughout his career. He might not be the playmaker Lonzo Ball is made out to be, but he can put up quality minutes and raise the ceiling for this team.

The Hornets could add both Ball brothers to their backcourt as a marketing stunt. The Hornets are the worst team in the NBA right now and still are in rebuild mode, trying to build around LaMelo Ball. Stars tend to force their way out of teams when they’re unhappy, so to keep LaMelo Ball happy, they could bring in his brother. Lonzo would also be a complimentary player for LaMelo once he’s healthy. What LaMelo lacks on defense, Lonzo more than makes up for it. Vice versa.

Lonzo has played like 12 games in 3 years. 0 reason to trade for someone that injury prone who probably wont ever be the same player he was.
