Want a post dedicated to showcasing the top highlights from this season so far? Wanna know why the Bulls are finally receiving national attention? Wanna know why we’re 2nd in the Eastern Conference and 5th in the league? Well, this post is gonna show the answers to all those questions.
The Chicago Bulls have been giving fans disappointing seasons since 2015, but this season seems to be all but different. This season is actually one that gets me glued to the TV when we’re on. It’s different, but it’s a good kind of different. A difference that we want to see stick, and it seems like it’s not going anywhere as of now. Enough rambling, let’s see some highlights and reasons why the Bulls are putting the world on notice.
Lonzo’s Vision Sparks Big Plays

This series of possessions is nuts in so many ways. First off, let’s call the foul on Lavine. Second, what a hustle play by Caruso. The dude is leading the league in total steals, let’s start to put some respect on that for once? Third, have the Cubs seen Lonzo’s arm? If Justin Fields and Henry Rowengartner combined their right arms, it seems like the outcome would be whatever Lonzo just did. Either way, some MLB team may need to take a look at him for the bullpen. Finally, the dunk. Lavine took his anger out with that nasty 360, and Bulls fans should be all about it.

This play resembles the meaning of Showtime Bulls. It’s 2-2 with more than 9 minutes remaining in the 1st Quarter, but Lonzo doesn’t care. He lobs it off the glass like it’s a blowout. Love that energy. Let’s also not forget the most important aspect of this sequence: unselfishness. Lonzo could have easily scored himself, but he understands that he has the Dunk Contest Champion running up behind him and can create a spark the offense needed.
Selfishness? Not In This Locker Room
This team plays with a love for each other that’s rare to find in sports. They want the TEAM to succeed and will do whatever it takes to make sure that happens. They don’t care about the stats and numbers, they want to succeed and grind out W’s.
Alex Caruso: “The stuff I do is not always glamorous. It’s stuff that wins basketball games. That’s what I love doing, winning.”

Agreed. Winning is nice. And the Bulls are doing that behind an attitude like Caruso’s. There’s a certain mentality in this locker room, and it’s one that’s truly bringing them together like glue. They work hard, play together, and make the game fun. When they do all these things together? Good things happen. Things like this:

You get rewarded for the work you put in, and the Bulls are starting to reap the benefits.
The Bulls Know They’re Back
It was a big two games against the Knicks and Nets this past week, and the Bulls needed wins badly. This was evident to them as much as it was for us fans, as Lavine allegedly let Stephen A. Smith know before the game that he can expect a loss tonight for the Knicks.
"Zach LaVine did come up to me before the game: 'I know you want us to lose tonight, but it ain't happening.'
"And then he went out on the court and showed me why."https://t.co/8l1TtrrXhW

Absolute savage. They understood how badly they needed to win, and they had no questions about losing. They took care of business by winning both games on the road, but it couldn’t have been done without this confidence that’s growing right in front of our eyes.

Wondering if Lavine carried that confidence into the next game against the Nets? There’s your answer. The confidence was there for him, and it’s starting to feed off onto the others as well.

The Bulls currently have a Closing Pitcher in their lineup with DeMar DeRozan. Not only is he currently leading the league in total points, but DeRozan is leading the league in total 4th Quarter points. This is something that shouldn’t be taken for granted. Currently averaging just over 26 points a game, DeRozan is quickly showing why his name deserves some MVP talk.

Appreciate The Present
The Bulls have built something special within the locker room, and it’s crucial that this doesn’t shatter. They are gelling and truly having fun winning. Credit to the organization for putting this squad together.
