The NBA is back and with that comes trade rumors. The Chicago Bulls are no strangers to this type of noise as they’ve been linked to quite a few trade packages here recently. However, in a recent report from Ian Begley, it seems a couple of teams are keeping an eye on Bulls star Zach LaVine.
When I first saw this report I sat there and asked myself why? Why would the Bulls even consider trading a 25-year-old with so much upside? Obviously, they wouldn’t unless their hand was forced. So what could possibly force their hand? Then it dawned on me.
The Bulls coaching decision. What if keeping Jim Boylen for another year, is what finally pushes LaVine out the door? It’s no secret that LaVine isn’t fond of Boylen so this wouldn’t be a stretch.
This is why it’s so important that the Bulls get this right. The team needs to finish the overhaul and bring in a new coach to lead this team. The players, not just the fans, need a fresh start. But if the Bulls do end up trading LaVine, they better get one helluva return for him. Otherwise, this will be just another set back for the organization that’s working so hard to get back relevancy.
