Report: Alex Caruso Linked To Warriors and Knicks In Trade Talks

-

The Chicago Bulls will be buyers at the NBA trade deadline as Lonzo Ball ramps up his recovery to make his return in the second half of the season. After missing a whole year, Lonzo Ball’s return means the Bulls’ front office can begin finding trade partners to unload their crowded backcourt in exchange for size in the frontcourt. Given Alex Caruso’s production and salary, he’ll likely net the Bulls the most significant return.

Alex Caruso has found himself in trade talks predominately all season as Ayo Dosunmu’s growth on the court replicates what Caruso does but at a lower price. Coby White brings a particular scoring skill to the team that neither guard possesses. Still, the Bulls have also been unsuccessful in finding a quality trade partner for White, making it more challenging to keep Caruso.

“Golden State has been one prominently mentioned rumor. The Knicks, who have been scouting the Bulls closely of late, are another team on which to keep an eye.” kc johnson via nbc sports chicago

Bulls Trade Idea With The New York Knicks

Bulls Trade: Alex Caruso

Knicks Trade: Obi Toppin and Derrick Rose

The Bulls would look for a younger player in return for any Alex Caruso trade package, according to KC Johnson. Obi Toppin has found himself as an odd man out as Julius Randle continues to dominate at that position. Although Toppin has unlimited potential, the Knicks can receive a defensive-minded guard who fits perfectly with Tom Thibodeau’s system. The Bulls can add frontcourt depth to their team and perhaps focus their attention on developing Toppin instead of Patrick Williams at that position if they feel Williams doesn’t have what it takes. Derrick Rose has fallen out of the rotation in New York. He can provide an insurance policy to Lonzo Ball with his playoff experience. He can also inject energy into the team and the city of Chicago.

Bulls Trade Idea With The Golden State Warriors

Bulls Trade: Alex Caruso

Warriors Trade: James Wiseman

This trade has been around the rumor mill for the past few weeks. It makes a lot of sense for both teams. Wiseman was the second overall pick in the draft and still possesses many of the tools it takes to become a star in this league. Simply put, the Warriors do not have time to wait and see if Wiseman figures it out. They have a win-now team built around their aging trio. Alex Caruso is an NBA champion and could be plugged into any system. The Bulls can receive their frontcourt depth this season, but also Wiseman gives them a piece to develop in case Nikola Vucevic exits in free agency as he failed to reach an extension agreement with the Bulls.

Lol. You have got to move kidding.

What the F makes you think the Knicks need more guard depth? There’s a reason why Derrick Rose, who’s the better player over Caruso isn’t getting any minutes with the Knicks despite Rose being one of Thibs favorites.

Hint: it’s the same reason you’re saying the Bulls should trade Carruso.

So now not only do the Knicks make a trade where they trade the better player for a backup guard they have absolutely no need for, you want them to also include Obi Toppin?

I like either of these trades. Caruso is the man, however the Bulls have a huge need in the frontcourt. Would be cool to see DRose back.
