Anyone who follows the NBA or Chicago sports has seen a massive uptick in the traffic generated by the Chicago Bulls. It started with trading away Zach LaVine, continued with Josh Giddey’s incredible month of March and Coby White’s three 35-point outings consecutively with two Eastern Conference Player Of The Week nods, and is now at a season-high with the most improbable victory leaguewide this year over the Lakers. Many sports fans, including many Bulls fans, had written off the Bulls before the calendar flipped to 2025, and the few surviving invested fans checked out after seeing LaVine was dealt away for a weak return, assuming the team would drop in the standings and have a franchise-altering draft choice. Rookie forward Matas Buzelis has experienced the best individual and team basketball of his first year and is now grabbing the attention of all with his latest social media post.
“Trust Your Eyes, The Bulls Are Back”
Buzelis has had a wide range of experiences in his rookie campaign. To start the year, he was constantly benched for being in foul trouble, never cracked the starting five, didn’t see minutes on a nightly basis, and was a low-volume offensive option. With nine games left in the regular season, he’s now consistently in the starting group, averaging more minutes than he has in any other month, taking and making more shots offensively, and drawing challenging defensive assignments each game. The progression and maturity from the first to the 73rd game have been an impressive and promising journey. It looks like one of Arturas Karnisovas’s picks finally panned out. When referring to the newfound ‘swag’ that Chicago recently boasts, “Lil Buzi Vert” is integral to their chemistry and energy.

Luck, Skill, Or A Combination?
A four-game winning streak doesn’t turn heads in the basketball world. Had it not been for a buzzer-beating half-court heave sealing tonight’s comeback win, a small minority of NBA fans would know that the Bulls have done that. However, 9-4 in their last 13, 8-2 in their previous ten, and back-to-back-to-back road victories against Western Conference playoff teams represent an extremely respectable stretch of ball from Billy Donovan’s group.
The Bulls are 9-2 over their last 11 games
You can disagree with the FO regarding the moves they’ve made, but it’s hard to disagree with the product

The pessimists will now contest that although this is an exciting run with blossoming prospects that provide hope for the franchise’s future, this lineup will not compete with the top-tier clubs in the Eastern Conference. They would be correct. However, in a seven-game series, Chicago’s current rotation’s three-point shooting and pace are a dangerous formula for an upset potentially brewing. Listen to the rookie, “The Bulls Are Back.”
Go Bulls!
