The Bulls found themselves down 13 at halftime against the Memphis Grizzlies.
They had a choice to make:
Throw in the towel or battle back. Thankfully they chose the latter.
The comeback was spearheaded by Zach LaVine and Coby White as they were the only two Bulls to reach double digits. LaVine bounced back from his quiet season opener with an impressive 37 points but it was White who really stole the show. The rookie came off the bench and provided a much needed spark as he scored 21 of his 25 points in the second half and played with extreme confidence.
Case in point:
Was this win perfect? No. Not by any means. But it was an important building block for a team who is still trying to find their identity.
The Bulls are now 1-1 and have a great opportunity tomorrow night as they head home to open the season against the Toronto Raptors.
A win against the defending NBA champs would be a huge step for a team who’s trajectory seems to be on the rise.
