Chicgo Bulls Involved In Big Trade Rumor

-

The trade market kicked off in the last week with the Desmond Bane blockbuster to the Orlando Magic. Everybody knows other big moves are coming. One of the most anticipated involved future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant. His time with the Phoenix Suns appears to have run its course after three seasons. The 36-year-old hopes to join a contender for one more crack at a championship before it’s too late. Plenty of teams have been mentioned as possibilities. The Chicago Bulls are not one of them. So, how do they factor into this?

One of the most prominent teams considered a Durant landing spot is the Houston Rockets. They had a great season, winning 52 games. Unfortunately, they fell in seven games to the Golden State Warriors in the first round. They need a difference-maker to make headway in the West. Durant, even at his advanced age, is still a walking bucket. He would instantly help their pedestrian offense. NBA analyst Jake Weinbach believes a big hurdle is standing in the way: Jalen Green.

If Houston wants Durant, they must unload Green’s contract. Phoenix won’t want it, so a third team will be needed to make it happen. Enter the Bulls.

The Chicago Bulls need a legitimate shooting guard.

Lonzo Ball tried to fill the role, but he’s still working his way back to full health and is a natural point guard. Kevin Huerter is a solid bench piece. He isn’t starter material. Coby White could be an option if the Chicago Bulls aren’t keen on trading him. There is no question Green would be what they’re missing. He averaged 21 points, four rebounds, and three assists for the Rockets last season. He also had his best season yet shooting threes at 35.4% accuracy. Everybody thinks the Bulls want to build a young core alongside Josh Giddey and Matas Buzelis. Green is only 23 years old. He would be a solid piece who is under contract for three more seasons, with the third having a player option. Everything depends on how determined Houston is to get Durant.
