With the NBA season just about two months away, we here at Sports Mockery decided to do a player breakdown for your Chicago Bulls. The Bulls made some moves this offseason and finally surrounded Fred Hoiberg with the kind of players he needs to execute “Hoiball”.
Let’s start with the most important position on the court, the Point Guard.
Kris Dunn showed flashes of what he could become last year. A tenacious defender who can get to the rim at will. Dunn also showed moments where he could take over games and put the team on his back and lead them to victory.
Last year Dunn started off the season backing up Jerian Grant and wasted no time taking the starting spot. In 43 games as a starter, this is what Dunn’s stats looked like.
G | GS | MP | FG | FGA | 3P | 3PA | FT | FTA | ORB | TRB | AST | STL | BLK | TOV | PF | PTS | FG% | 3P% | FT% | TS% | USG% | ORtg | DRtg | +/- | MP | PTS | TRB | AST |

Things Dunn Needs To Improve On
Kriss needs to focus on getting to the free throw line more. Dunn can get to the rim when he wants, but he needs to initiate more contact. Another problem Bulls fans saw with Kris Dunn last year was his turnovers. At 2.9 turnovers per game, Kris needs to take care of the ball more efficiently and not make the unnecessary pass. Three-point shooting was never Dunn’s strong suit, but if he can improve on that and become a legitimate threat from downtown it makes him all the more dangerous.
As long as Dunn keeps developing his game and stays a pitbull on defense this job will be his for the foreseeable future. Dunn does well getting his teammates involved and running the offense. Plus, with the additions of Jabari Parker and Wendell Carter, Dunn will be able to rack up more assists. Every person in the Bulls starting lineup can shoot which plays out well for Dunn on the drive and kick.
It seems the Chicago Bulls have their Point Guard of the future already.
