WATCH: Blackhawks Provide Most Wholesome Moment Of The NHL Season

-

For Blackhawks fans, the first 30 games of this season have been nothing short of a complete disaster. The team holds the worst record in the NHL at 9-20-1 and one could argue this year’s squad is even worse than last year’s, even with the addition of Connor Bedard. A lack of talent on the roster is a big part of the problem, but the Blackhawks have suffered an incredible amount of injuries on a seemingly nightly basis. The young team has had a rough go of it so far, and things don’t look to be getting better anytime soon.

In a season like this one, it’s the small things that count. So when the Blackhawks provide us with perhaps the most wholesome moment of the entire NHL season, a bad season gets just a little bit better.

The Blackhawks posted a video on their TikTok account Monday night of the team’s holiday skate, where players took the ice in the United Center with their families. Arvid Soderblom, Philipp Kurashev, Jarred Tinordi, Mackenzie Entwistle, Jason Dickinson, Nick Foligno, and Reese Johnson were all featured with their loved ones. Perhaps the most adorable of all, though, was rookie Connor Bedard, shown skating with Foligno’s kids.

The first-overall pick in this year’s draft faced huge expectations coming into the season and has delivered on every single one of them. Through 30 games, he’s logged 12 goals and 14 assists as practically the team’s only source of offensive production. The 18-year-old has been mature beyond his years off the ice as well, handling himself well in tough interviews and other media availability.

It’s been a tough season for everyone in the Blackhawks organization, but wholesome moments like this one make the year a little bit better. Bedard has fit in perfectly in Chicago for the beginning of his career, and we’ll hope for many more adorable videos for years to come.

Bedard is a great kid. Im sure his parents are very proud. He’s been brought up well. He needs to stay patient. Hopefully the Hawks will get him the players he deserves to skate with. Merry Christmas Issac. You are the most consistent writer on Sportsmockery.
