It didn’t take long for Adam Boqvist to make a strong impression during the Blackhawks preseason. It took just a little under two periods, actually. Down 3-2 with a little over seven minutes remaining in the second period, the 2018 first-round pick circled the net and rifled a shot over the glove of Capitals’ goaltender Phoenix Copley. Here’s a look at Boqvist’s beauty of a goal.
As expected, Boqvist has been dominant offensively through the first two periods. In the defensive zone though, the Swedish defenseman has been a bit of a spectator. He’s been on the ice for two of the Capitals three goals so far. Those goals haven’t been a direct result of Boqvist’s play, but he still looks a little timid on defense. Hopefully, he’ll continue to sharpen up as the preseason goes along. Despite the defensive lapses, it’s been a pretty impressive start to the preseason for Adam Boqvist!
