The Blackhawks Have A STACKED Development Camp Roster

-

The Blackhawks will have 36 players attend the team’s Prospect Development Camp from July 15-19, including Kirby Dach.

With NHL free agency all but over for the Chicago Blackhawks, it’s that time of summer when the countdown to the regular season begins. Yesterday, Blackhawks’ fans flooded social media with Patrick Kane highlights as 88 days remained in the offseason. Today marks 87. It’s hockey in July, not much to do but sit around and wait.

Fortunately, the summer heats up again next week for the Blackhawks as their annual Development Camp begins on Monday. Earlier this morning, the organization released the camp’s roster, and it certainly did not disappoint.

The Development Camp roster includes 19 forwards, 11 defensemen, and six goaltenders for a total of 36 players. 2018 No. 8 overall pick Adam Boqvist and 2019 3rd overall pick Kirby Dach headline the roster. All six players from the Blackhawks’ 2019 draft class will be in attendance. Fellow 2018 first-round pick Nicolas Beaudin will be there as well.

Overall, the Blackhawks’ Development Camp roster is loaded with talent. Some forwards to keep an eye on (besides Dach, obviously) are Philipp Kurashev, MacKenzie Entwistle, Antti Saarela, and Brandon Hagel. Unfortunately, Evan Barrett and Dominik Kubalik will be limited to off-ice workouts due to injury. Ian Mitchell, Chad Krys, and Alex Vlasic are a couple of other intriguing defensemen prospect to keep tabs on. 2019 sixth-round pick Dominic Basse and 2018 sixth-round pick Alexis Gravel are the only two goaltenders under contract with the Blackhawks.

Practices will be held on Mon-Fri from 1-5 p.m. at Fifth Third Arena on W. Jackson Boulevard. On Friday there will be a scrimmage beginning at 9:30 a.m. to wrap up the Blackhawks’ Development Camp. Make sure to come out and watch some of the ‘Hawks’ top prospects in action!
