The Blackhawks had an awful few days in Florida. A 7-0 shellacking by the Panthers and blowing a 3 goal lead to lose 5-4 in OT against the Lightning. This left fans questioning their abilities.
They quickly put the doubts to rest in the first period of their game against the Penguins on Wednesday night. What looked like a great matchup on paper between two 103 point teams, started ugly. The first period saw the Blackhawks put four goals in a Fleury. Pun intended.
Panarin scored on an amazing feed from Kane, Schmaltz to Panik for a sweet one-timer, Kruger accidentally sniped a goal after a dish from Kane and Hartman fed Hossa for the fourth goal against Marc-Andre Fleury.
