Earlier today, Adidas Hockey released the Digital 6 series alternate uniforms. They collaborated with EA Sports to create bold, futuristic jersey concepts for the Blackhawks and the other Original 6 NHL teams. Adidas used the same color palette that each team currently wears and added their own spin to each. This is what they came up with.

Let’s Take a Closer Look at the Blackhawks’ Digital 6 Alternate Uniform
As we dig deeper and take a closer look at the Blackhawks’ Digital 6 alternate uniform, there’s a lot to analyze. The Blackhawks’ logo contains 7 different colors, which is the most in the NHL. This gave Adidas a little more room to be creative than they could be with the other Original 6 teams. In the following video, the creative team from Adidas Hockey explains what went into making the Blackhawks’ Digital 6 alternate uniform.

Now, you may not like it, but this could very well be the direction that the NHL decides to go with their uniforms. For now, the Digital 6 uniform series is only available on NHL 19. Although these alternates may never see the ice, I believe an official alternate uniform for each team is in the works.
For better or for worse, I also believe it’s just a matter of time before we see the NHL take the same plunge that the NBA recently took — advertisements on jerseys. Money talks and the NHL has some catching up to do when it comes to generating revenue for their league. The Digital 6 uniform series may be the NHL taking another step in that direction.
