VIDEO: Justin Fields’ Reactions To Bears Throttling Pats Were Iconic

-

Don’t be fooled by the cool exterior he puts on during interviews. Justin Fields loves football. More importantly, he loves to win. The Chicago Bears haven’t done a lot of that over the past month, losing their last three games in heartbreaking fashion. The muffed punt against New York. Smith-Marsette’s fumble against Minnesota. Darnell Mooney bobbling the winning TD against Washington. It was easy to understand why Fields is frustrated.

That made it easy to understand his reactions as Monday Night Football drew to a close with the Bears blasting the New England Patriots 33-14 in front of a stunned Gillette Stadium. The young quarterback was grinning from ear to ear throughout most of the 4th quarter. He was fired up after Kyler Gordon’s interception. He sent a heartfelt message to Bears fans and then did some dancing in the locker room. It was a fun night for QB1 and much deserved.

Justin Fields was central to the Bears’ win.

The offense racked up 390 yards in that game. Fields accounted for 261 of them. He ran for a touchdown and threw for another. More than anything, it was his remarkable composure that won the day. Things looked bleak in the first half after Bailey Zappe came off the bench to lead the Patriots to 14 unanswered points. Fields had thrown a costly interception on the previous drive. That didn’t deter him, though. He executed a brilliant march 79 that ended with a masterful 25-yard TD strike to Khalil Herbert under massive pressure.

That sequence changed the game, sparking 23 straight points from the Bears. Suddenly what looked like another collapse became one of the most unlikely blowout wins this franchise has produced in a decade. Justin Fields still has plenty to improve on. His fumbling issues remain a concern, and he still has to get quicker with his decision-making. Still, his confidence is growing. That much is obvious. Once the Bears are able to surround him with better talent, he could make the leap to something special.

FEELING good…. perfect weekend.
1 Bears win (even I didn’t have faith)
2 GB loses and is under 500
3 Brady loses and is also under 500
4 Pat’s lose and we CRUSHED them. even the kneel down at the end showed we have SOOOOO much more class then a Beli-cheat team. I remember (as does the rest of the league when they were running up scores week in and week out). So

SUCK it! Pats!

Fields tossed an interception off of a tipped pass. So far this year most of not all of his interceptions have come off of tipped passes. Fumbles out of bounds dont count to me. All in all Fields played a good game. He just needs to be better at tossing it away instead of taking a sack.

4 more fumbles and a pick. I’m listening to how he’s turning the corner. The Bears had to scrap their scheme and go RPO so Fields wasn’t a terrible QB. That won’t work for long. Like by next week.

4 fumbles.. this game could’ve been a lot different. Credit the Defense to keep the pats off the score board.
