The Chicago Bears are 2-2. The NFL trade deadline is November 1st. That means four games remain before GM Ryan Poles has to make a decision. Does he buy, does he sell, or does he stand pat? The Bears were rarely active at the deadline under Ryan Pace. However, Poles has proven he isn’t above working those phones to find deals. Three of the next four games are on the road. It isn’t hard to imagine the Bears ending up 3-5 or 2-6 by then. At that point, he may have to consider getting a head start on 2023. That is where Robert Quinn comes in.
Trade rumors surrounded the star pass rusher during the summer. Nothing ended up happening. It made sense. He’s 32. The Bears are rebuilding. Staying together doesn’t make much sense in the grand scheme. Things never materialized because the demands for edge rush help weren’t high enough. That appears to have changed. Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report has two teams as prime candidates to snatch him if the Bears open the door.
Quinn’s $12.8 million base salary is pass-rusher reasonable, and we’d expect teams to make serious inquiries if Chicago’s slide continues.
While the Broncos have just $9.1 million in cap space available and would have to clear a little room, Gregory’s injury makes Denver a sensible landing spot.
The Los Angeles Chargers, who have $6.5 million in space, would have to be even more financially creative. However, they are another logical landing spot. The Chargers recently placed Joey Bosa on injured reserve, and his groin tear appears more serious than originally believed.
According to Schefter, Bosa is expected to miss between eight and 10 weeks.
Best Fits: Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers

Robert Quinn isn’t solving the Bears’ biggest issues.
This defense has problems with the pass rush, even with him on the roster. He has one sack through four games though he’s managed to provide consistent pressure. There is a good chance he can pad his stats against teams like Washington and New England. With a few more sacks, his stock will be strong enough for somebody to come calling before Halloween. The obvious question is what the Bears can get for him.

Much of that also depends on how much money Poles might be willing to eat in his contract. If he’s willing to absorb most of the salary, the other team may up their draft compensation. That is how Denver got 2nd and 3rd round picks for Von Miller last season. Robert Quinn likely won’t fetch that much but a decent 3rd or 4th rounder isn’t out of the question if the other team is desperate enough. The Chargers and Broncos are both 2-2, with games against Kansas City still to come. They need guys who can hunt Patrick Mahomes.
Bears said this summer that they see Quinn as ” similar ” to Von Miller for what he can do ! That in mind i suspect they think he is worth more than us fans ? Still i could see a 3rd and a Rd 6 set is he gets a couple more sacks and hurries 1st !
We need to totally break down and rebuild! Given his age and wear and tear; anything compensation wise makes sense. Poles has already shown good track for building through the draft and late round value picks. I say go ahead and if you get a 4th to 5th it’s a deal.
I can see the Bears getting a 3rd or 4th for him. The rest of the Bears linemen are invisible so he’s essentially on his own against double protection.
If you’re desperate and he can be the missing piece you could do a lot worse.
Quinn isn't fetching a 3rd round pick with that salary and basically invisible thus far this year. They should have traded him in the off-season fresh off the 18.5 sacks. Maybe then we could have gotten a 3rd for him. Now? His price is going down by the game.
Chargers look like a viable suitor for him.. they are a SB contender, pair him up with old number 52….get a 3rd pick and go
