The Bears enter week 3 with a 1-1 record after a tough loss against the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football. This week, they’ll be in the noon window as they take on the winless Indianapolis Colts. Here are my three bold predictions for this matchup.
Bears score 30+ on Indy
I won’t go so far as to say all 30 points will come from the offense, but overall, I believe this is a great chance for the Bears offense to bounce back. According to Pro Football Focus, the Colts have the 23rd-ranked defense in the NFL. While Keenan Allen is still out, this opens up an opportunity for Rome Odunze and Caleb Williams to finally have breakout games.
Bears defense creates 4 turnovers
The Bears currently rank 3rd in defense, according to PFF. While they’ve been effective at getting stops, they would still like to produce a few more turnovers. Against this Bears secondary, I see a tough matchup for Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson. I predict Richardson will throw two interceptions and lose a fumble on a strip sack. I also expect a big hit or a “Peanut Punch” to force a fourth turnover. These takeaways should improve the Bears field position and support my prediction that they’ll score at least 30 points in Indy.
Bears will establish the run early
The Colts defense is ranked 23rd in run defense by PFF. I believe the Bears will focus on the run game early, even though they’ve struggled to establish it in their first two games. They need to support rookie QB Caleb Williams, and the best way to do that is by having a strong running game. With RB Travis Homer on IR after finger surgery, we could see more of Roschon Johnson this week. However, I think this is the game where D’Andre Swift finally breaks out and showcases why the Bears pursued him in free agency this offseason.

Sorry, simpleton, you just pointed out my correct predictions for the game. So I am correct. Thanks!
@Rocketrider…And that’s 21 points after getting 4 turnovers?
Hey sally….Houston had a good field and AC. And no wind..thanks for more uselessness. That’s what you’re best at. And you’ve been voted to the bench.
Writer dave….you’re giving Indy 21 points? After the Bears held Houston to 19? Thinking more like 13 at best. Just a guess, not some crazed prediction like twit twty makes.
Buckner is out. Latu is not 100%. Got air conditioning. No wind. The field should be better too. Any noise?
