The Chicago Bears suffered a tough loss against the Detroit Lions last Sunday, and the game took a turn for the worse with about 4 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Up until then, everything seemed to be going well. Justin Fields was in high spirits, dancing, and the team overall was feeling good. However, a sudden meltdown soon followed, and the Lions managed to score 15 points in just 4 minutes. This highlighted once again that the Bears struggle to close out games.
One notable moment in the fourth quarter was Justin Fields 29-yard scramble for a first down. At that point, it appeared to silence the Detroit crowd and seemed like a decisive play that could seal the Lions fate. If you’re unfamiliar with the dance I’m mentioning, you can watch the video below for reference.
The Detroit Lions did not forget Fields dance. They responded to this moment by creating a clever meme. They replaced a Koopa from the Mario universe with a frozen-in-ice dancing Justin Fields, and it’s truly golden.
I don’t share the frustration that some have about Justin Fields choosing to dance after a big play.

It’s just a part of his confidence and style of play. He tends to perform better when he’s feeling confident and displaying that swagger. It’s not his fault that his coaching staff opted for a conservative approach and played not to lose once again late in a game. Regardless, kudos to the Lions social media team for their witty response.

It’s good to see the Lions fans still have a sense of humor after never having won the NFL North, and going since what, 1991 or 92 without winning a single playoff game?
Good job, guys. Keep smiling. It’ll be good practice when the kitties fall apart in the playoffs.
@Dr. Melhus “…perennial Bears pro bowl QB Justin Fields…” LOL! Seems like somebody maybe hitting the spiked eggnog already! In almost 3 years JF has 6 wins for a whopping average of 2 wins a year. Pro bowl? Nah, toilet bowl is more likely. I just read Mooney is unhappy with this role on offense. Well, at least JF got 100 yards rushing in the last game – since rushing is what NFL QBs are supposed to do (sarcasm.)
Here’s hoping that, in a few years, perennial Bears pro bowl quarterback Justin Fields watches that video (image/meme/whateverthehellitis) twice a year before he goes out on the field and shreds the Detroit defense with passes and runs, and then dances in the end zone multiple times.
Wow! 😮 Nice one, Lions. *hat tip*
*mumbles under breath*
