Ahead of yesterday’s game, Ryan Poles told listeners on ESPN 1000 during the station’s pre-game show he would be deleting his Twitter account before one of the most important weeks in his tenure as the Chicago Bears GM.
Whether that was said in jest or not, it indicated he knew what was ahead of him. Many reporters on Twitter made mention of his remark on the social media site, and every reporter mentioned they were unaware Poles even had a Twitter account.
During the Bears’ last home game, the chant “We Want Fields” rang out in the 4th quarter, making it clear who those in attendance want to see quarterbacking this team into and beyond 2024.
When the members of the press arrived at Halas Hall today, the driveway was lined with signs posted by fans making their wishes known about Justin Fields and Jaylon Johnson.

Ryan Poles has done an amazing job building a roster that was completely torn down and rebuilt in his two seasons with Chicago; He now faces his biggest challenge getting this team to the next level in 2024.

I think Fields knows. Why else would he say his goodbyes? He’s still under contract.
BANE-Just my take, but you refer to it as keeping Fields for one more year of the rebuild. I don’t care what the talking heads out there say. We were dominant at times this year. We matched up well with some good teams. We are beyond rebuild starting week 1. We will be contending.
…even a step further, further, Poles and I had the same profile song on our MySpace pages. That is, until he changed his to “Chasing Pavements” by Adele. I have to admit, it is a lovely song.
